Center for Electromagnetic Fields Engineering and High-Frequency Techniques (CEFE&HFT) is a research unit of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin operating within the structure of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
The main tasks of the Center include basic and applied research in the field of high-frequency electromagnetic waves (radio, microwave, terahertz, and infrared bands) and in electromagnetic field engineering, including magnetism, the interaction of strong fields, and magnetization dynamics and the accompanying thermal phenomena.
One of the key areas of the Center's activity will be focused on the newly created electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) laboratory. The task of this laboratory will be to carry out activities for industrial entities (EMC certification studies and expert assessment of the mutual influence of the tested facility and the environment) and to join the research and development stream in the field of effective management of electromagnetic emissions. Moreover, an important element of the Centre's activity will be works devoted to research on special materials with designed electromagnetic properties, or complex and multilayer structures.
The task of the Center is to direct and coordinate research on the above-mentioned topics, which will enable increasing the scientific potential of the Center and facilitate obtaining external funds for research and development. The area of the Center's activity will also include cooperation with industrial partners as part of engineering and expert research. As a consequence, it is planned to join the Center to national or international networks of research laboratories, and in the longer term to join the Polish Road Map for Research Infrastructure.
